Hiding

Hi Beautiful People,

This is a piece I composed on my Manastone Steel Tongue Drum for healing ceremonial work. Her name is Tully, and I hope she creates the feeling of breathing through your heart. Remember, it is okay to be who you are.

I am open to wonderful collaborative opportunities that will allow the creating of healing music. I am also open to playing at events, art galleries, or any beautiful place that would be complimented by a beautiful sound. I’m open to ideas, let’s connect.

You can reach me here.

Mindful Shaman

Eyes wide open,
not knowing they’re asleep,
so many prefer the token,
compassionate tears I weep.

Saying “he’s too sensitive”
but see, it is not so.
I just love you so deeply,
show up for your show.

See how they wait,
clapping before you arrive,
set your sight straight,
alive but not alive?

My goodness, much has happened,
and I know that happened too,
but excuses are excuses,
time to see you.

Morning Meditation Message 18

Situations will arise to put fear and frustration in your heart. If you have cleared your intuitive channels you will be prepared long before they arrive. However, if you aren’t prepared, the situation will still sharpen you and make you much stronger. Be open to that. As you open to the truth of all that is, you will feel relief in remembering that all life is cradled, including your own. Surrender to the moment and experience knowing that all is well, and that you will safely be carried to your next destination. There are bigger forces operating behind the veil supporting you, nourishing you, keeping your life in tact. You can not see gravity, but it is there, acting on even the molecular structure of your being. You can not see certain wavelengths of light, but they are there. Allow yourself to feel safe and cradled during the transition, so that your vibration continues attracting the unfolding of your highest most harmonious purpose on Earth.

Morning Meditation Message 17

Contemplate your cosmic origin. The you before the body of human. All around is the evidence of return. Like an inhale and an exhale, our bodies are filled with life and are emptied. You are the life force, not the body. Like the trunk of a fallen tree that becomes the soil, so too will we disperse and give way to other expressions of life after our time here. Light is the soil of the soul, life is both an exploration of expansion and a return trip. Use your time here – in that beautiful specific incarnation that you are – well. It took billions of years to make you, and to leave within the fabric of your creation the freedom for you to be absolutely ridiculous. What do I mean? Well, ridiculous in the sense that sometimes you believe that your imperfections are greater than the infinite wisdom coded into – not only your soul as geometric manifestations of light – but also in the genetic codes of your body; the history of your people. Contemplate your cosmic origin, you are an exquisite being that chose to forget why you came here, so that you may feel the beauty of remembering. You wanted a break from the infinite wisdom of the soul, and a taste of new undiscovered experience. Have you had your fill of forgetting yet? I know I have! Stop judging what you see in the mirror, you are a miracle still in expansion, a miracle that not one of us can truly comprehend or put into words. Enter the doors of your hearts calling, and let gratitude carry you beyond the illusion of your limitations.

Morning Meditation Message 16

We’ve forgotten how to be on top of one another, which was once an integral part of our survival as a species. We migrated with little room for sleep, everything we owned on our backs, and now we can’t even sit on the crowded train together. We have lost our way, traveled miles away from the truth. What is the truth? The fact that we need each other. The fact that you choose lonely and really want love is masochistic. Stop killing yourself. Love calls all the missing pieces, reminding each that it is important. The language is love, light, and sound. It is what you feel, what you see, and what you hear. A little noise is not going to hurt you, and a little touch is not going to hurt you. When was the last time you abruptly bumped into yourself and wanted to be with you – that sweet frightening beauty that you are? It is time to remember that you are one with it all. Stop being annoyed by the small things in the mess you have created of your own life. It is okay, we have all made a mess of our lives, and the planet. Together we remember, together we take action. Step one is to remember by waking up, step two is to clean, step three is to ask for help. Change the order if you must. The formula is non-linear. This is all happening too fast to cry. Too fast to cry. Too fast to cry.

Morning Meditation Message 8

Progress happens swift for some and slow for others. In our days here of learning and integrating the messages of the soul, let us learn to be patient. Let us remember that a drop of water fills the bucket, and remember that we may not see all the drops someone is gathering inside them. We may have our physical measuring sticks for physical things, but this is about the non physical aspect of all beings. In this non physical aspect of who we are and who others are, let us remember that the awakening process of another is happening, whether we see proof of it or not. Awakening can happen in the flash of an instant. The progress is inevitable, light is a seed that will always grow, and not always on the logical timetable we come to understand in our limited experience of knowing. No matter the age or how justified we may feel in our pain and what it has taught us, should we ever think that the same thing is happening all over again. Similar, but not the same. Can you see the grain of the lesson you might have missed? Will you make something nourishing of it instead. These are questions to ask in your silent spaces, as you come into the fullness of your being. Enjoy this beautiful day. Sorrow or joy, it is all still a gift. Open it, and your heart too.

Morning Meditation Message 5

Who you are when no one is watching, is who you really are. Even in the face of injustice, keep the possibility of togetherness in your heart, keep the possibility of a unified humanity in your mind. The possibility has nothing to do with what you are actually seeing in front of you, and everything to do with the power of what your thoughts can create. Thoughts of freedom were created before the possibility of freedom was acted upon by those before you, if you are black and can read this, there is your evidence. This is a message of hope that goes beyond the limitation of circumstance. Let your resolve be strengthened by the memory of those who have come before you – whatever your background may be – yes, your people have fought to be heard too. Since we all have fighting-to-be-heard in common, and misunderstandings bubbling over the cups edge, let us fine-tune our listening, ready to clean up what has spilled by accident. Mindful listening, the kind of listening you do with the breathing deep in the bottom of your belly. Listening you do without thinking of a response while the person is still speaking, or while you are still reading their words. It is hard for you to be present with others, because you have a hard time being present with yourself. Stop interrupting the sentences from your own soul, and mindfully listen to the wisdom already inside you. It is always speaking, in a whisper yes, but the possibility is there for it to be heard and set free. See your history? Look how much has been done with even smaller possibilities evident before the taking of the action. Stop complaining, get up, do something. The best part of you is not made of weakness, you are billions of years of strength perfected from a dying stars explosion. Piece yourself back together, your scattering is an illusion. The best part of you is already whole. Count your blessings, starting with the breath you are inhaling and exhaling without permission right now. Count even the water that makes your blinking smooth. See clearly into this moment. Have a wonderful day!

Choosing Misery

Emotions can inspire change, create brilliant pieces of art, or even bring more abundance into your life when used productively. As one decides to be mindful in the face of powerful feelings, what is created within the individual, is a delicate space for choice to unfold. A space where we can choose to not say the hurtful thing, or take the vengeful act, or sabotage our very own dreams. Quite often we feel that the emotions are choosing us, and that we have no say in the matter. However, though it can be difficult at times, there is always a choice. When we practice meditation, we give our lives the gift of realizing the whispering moment that pulls us out of the passionate destructive reaction to what is happening around us.

On my most recent healing shamanic journey, something unexpected was revealed to me in a way that I will never forget. As I sat in my meditation room experiencing moments of at times tear filled pain, and others ecstatic joy, I saw a point in my mind I did not notice so clearly before. As clear as you can see the light switch on the wall, so vibrantly did I see my ability to choose joy, or misery. In the wellness community we acknowledge the infinite nature of well-being all around us, and we do not doubt that love is indeed infinite. In my journey I saw that even misery is infinite, and this was a most frightening realization. I could feel the plight of humanity deep in my bones. The reason behind how so many of my brothers and sisters are unable to see that they are choosing to live in pain became clear to me. They literally do not see that they are choosing it. How? By being caught in infinite loops of self-doubt, revenge, lack of forgiveness for self and others, crippling fear of the unknown; the list went on infinitely. My eyes widened with shock, and compassion poured out of my soul, this realization made me want to help people even more.

As the water wears down the rock, more rock is pushed up from the earth, as this is the nature of life, creation holding the hand of destruction. There is balance in both the misery and the beauty, and as sentient, conscious beings in the experience of life, who are able to analytically decipher our experience as good or bad, at times we allow our minds to over think to the point of never moving out of our own misery. What we think we figured out in our hours of analyzing, seems to add gasoline to fire, instead of putting out the flames. Then, as we succumb to the futility of our efforts, what we look for next are ways in which we can find more things to distract us from the pain within that we are unwilling to face and let go.

Letting go is the key we avoid, because we like to convince our minds that the misery of pain, is a more delicious door to open than the freedom of our relief. But that is a habit of choosing the known, that willingly leaves forgiveness as the unknown. If someone has hurt you, you believe that letting go and forgiving them, means that you will allow another to do it to you again, and you believe that your discomfort makes them suffer, but neither is the truth. A lack of forgiveness is only a comfort zone, and the source of our misery is quite often a comfort zone we have long outgrown. If you go forward with mindfulness and self respect, the same fate can not befall you once the lesson has already been learned. So then, holding on to the misery has no use, other than lowering your immune cells by increasing the hormones released by emotional distress, and causing your life great pain, due to your inability to open up and be loved by all around you.

Why let it go when it can be fuel for the artistic master piece? Why let it go when it can be the fuel for the victim mentality that leaves everyone else to take care of you? Why let go when the pain feels so good? Are you really ready to move on to your best life? Is there another way to be creatively inspired? Take time to answer those questions on your own, perhaps it is time to do things in a healthier way that sustains your overall well-being.

Though I don’t have much, I can still smile and help others smile. Many strangers have cried healing tears on my shoulders. I share with them the abundance of my compassionate heart, a heart that chooses joy instead of misery more often than not. We may not always get it right, but we can always try again in this moment, for indeed it is a new moment. In my journey I saw that misery can create a comfortable illusion, that robs one of true happiness everyday. We can be financially secure and spiritually bankrupt, for it is not having things that makes one smile from the soul, it is the love of friends, family, and living a life of fulfilled purpose that creates true joy. A joy so true that we would need no other substance to numb us from the reality of our failure.

Remember that success has many sides to it, free yourself from the misery by making time for silent introspection, and allow the letting go of what is no longer serving your higher self. Go on a Shamanic Journey with a trusted spiritual professional, and meditate on the reality of your freedom; know that you have the strength to heal and overcome whatever it is that has happened to you. Let go of all that is not helping you uphold an openhearted view of the path ahead. You deserve it, so choose it! Let that misery be infinite somewhere else!

When Now Is Not Enough

Ribbons wrap an old memory like silk
slipped into the velvet of yesterdays’ smile
we wait for the return of shadows

Watch close, it is always noon somewhere else
feet rest upon the ottoman mass produced
even the spilled milk worries and wallows

wailing at the wind a flag held by string
our limp wrists dance like wires after a storm
powerless, are the letters we swallow

ears pressed to the carpeted floor retired
as we wait for the rumble of covered earth
cement mixes into the chests we borrowed

Quick, draw your name before it hardens
swift, before the ribbon ties your hands
stitched with promises of tomorrow
