Morning Meditation Message 11

Sometimes life will ask that you wait quietly in the wing until it is your turn to step on the stage. We can learn so much from performers in those moments. There is silence in the wing, a shifting behind the curtains to just the right spot into just the right light. It is not always easy to see just how you’ll enter, because some people are coming off stage right in your path. They are not yet concerned with your silence, they may hurriedly pass through your wing just to get to the other side, in order to enter the stage very quickly once again. So, we must learn to move out of the way of others who are already on stage, as we patiently await our turn. You are not forgotten. The anxiety is part of it, the eagerness to be seen – to contribute your part. But know when to be in the audience, when to be in the wing, and when to be on stage, for they are all important pieces of the performance. The pieces belong to each other, and if you take one away, the others don’t quite work the same. Learn from the wing to be like the wing, a quiet refuge before entering. You are being called from the seat of the audience to remember your part before stepping behind the wing, and when the time comes for you to be on the stage of your life, you’ll never miss a single beat. Enjoy this beautiful day!

Morning Meditation Message 10

You think it is on your time, but it is on its own time. You think its responding to your words, but even your voice is a fruit on its tree. What is it that you own? The final taker reminds you that even bodies are borrowed. Knowing this, where is the rush? Where is the hour? Gone so quick. My friend, there is no such thing as rush hour. Can you see between these words? Find a space between what society told you is happening, and what you actually observe from your state of centered awareness. What is more real than the labels we have put on things, is our idea of such things and how we use our thoughts to take action, however unclear. Believing in rush hour makes you rush angrily to your destination, but it is not the hour that causes frustration, nor is it the people. On some level you recognize the absurdity of it all, and you don’t see a way out of the collective madness we’ve sewn. Thousands of people racing to jobs many of them hate, just to eat and survive. Madness where groups of people are packed so tight that they almost squeeze through each other, and yet still they fight even harder to not see each other and how alike their struggles actually are. What a comedy, I can smell your shampoo, but nope I can’t see you. It is clear to see the ridiculousness of our idea of separation and how it manifests in such moments. Will you take five minutes before starting the “rush” of the day to get clear, or is the race to the race more worthy of your attention? If you chose to run, why then complain that the feet tire? Tired feet are a part of such a race, and so is a tired mind. Try it a little differently in your heart today. Step into the present moment and see a soul inside a stranger, and feel as your sense of time slows down. You may not be able to change the collective idea of rush hour, but you can change your internal response to it as you step lively into the gift of this day.

Private and group sessions in meditation are available, looking forward to hearing from you.

Addiction Prayer

This is a prayer for all my friends who are struggling with addiction
for all who have felt the weight grind into their shoulders
until theirs arms fall off in fetal position,
holding on to the air because there’s nothing left
inside of the body they once knew.
This prayer is for you,
silent struggler of secrets,
with claws strong enough to keep you glued
to an old perception that says you are far from God.

This prayer is a crossing signal sending you love,
so that you may cross the street of yourself,
so that you may meet your beauty and strength again.
Shall the arch of the rainbows bend through the combination lock of your chest,
where you have saved too many things in boxes
and forgot your own packaging while keeping everyone else’s secure.
This poem is a prayer to remind you that you’re worthy of being loved more.

You dress up so nicely and smell so good,
but it is the pain in your aura that plays the strings in my heart.
This poem is a prayer for new start,
so that you may free yourself from self sabotage
and how it can look like smooth sailing.
A prayer for God to hold the railing of your heart
as you walk up the steps of love, light,
creativity, passion and purpose unfolding.

This prayer is a thank you for all you have done to keep your heart safe,
but it is a reminder to remove the rusty chains around your ankles and wrists,
that limit your reach to the ceiling, when you have inherited the entire sky.

This prayer is even for the tears that dry before you cry,
tears you want no one else to see,
my vision is beyond this plane,
and your beauty can not hide from me.

This poem is a prayer for all my friends who are struggling with addiction,
who have reached past the 40 year mark,
to find confusion and dreams squeezed of their joy.

I dreamed of a laughing Buddha that said to me “Infinite Second Chances.”

So remove the fear of failure, forgive yourself, and try again.
This poem is a prayer calling for the presence of your highest friend,
I call that presence here now and all our ancestors, angels, and guides,
to keep you illuminated in the knowingness that all is one,
so even your healing is not separate from the soul power inside you.
This poem is a prayer for all my friends suffering from addiction
and I know you’ll make it through.

Morning Meditation Message 7

Concentration is a gift you give to yourself. The ability to focus intently upon one thing with sincerity of heart, brings it closer to you. Sometimes it is not about distance or time, and more about vibration. Literally, how you feel in your heart, radiates out to all the world. On the truest level of being, there are no secrets, that which is in all, knows all, speaks to all. So, if what is in the silent spaces of your heart, is frustration, rage, anger, envy and so on, why think that smiling on the face will disguise this? You are always seen, not as a fear based threat or punishment – you are always seen, because you are always loved, and always have been. Watching, being aware, is a kind of love that none of us had to earn. This was a natural part of us before taking this physical body, and is a part of us even now. What am I trying to say this morning? What you seek is also seeking you, and so to honor that, you must let go of what is letting go of you. Clinging, even to the idea of how justified your frustration, rage, and anger may be, does noting for your health or the pursuit of your goals. It literally makes your immune system weaker, and keeps your dreams and goals away from you, which then makes you more upset and bitter, which then lowers your immune system some more, and on and on the cycle goes until you end up in the hospital blaming the world for it all. Forgive and let go. You are the landlord of your own mind. What kind of tenants have you moved in? Catch yourself today, in that moment of the knee-jerk response to whatever it is that bothers you, change the thought. Take a deep breath, and change the thought, this is likened to changing the keys. Are you following the metaphor? Stop painting the house to fix a leak in the basement, the work is internal. Be patient with yourself as you would be with a small child, and in time you will build a wellspring of resilience, the focus needed, to truly reach your goal. We are all children on the inside, the tantrums however, can be a little bit more complex. Stop. Enjoy this lovely day, it is a gift, and so is the life in you.

Morning Meditation Message 5

Who you are when no one is watching, is who you really are. Even in the face of injustice, keep the possibility of togetherness in your heart, keep the possibility of a unified humanity in your mind. The possibility has nothing to do with what you are actually seeing in front of you, and everything to do with the power of what your thoughts can create. Thoughts of freedom were created before the possibility of freedom was acted upon by those before you, if you are black and can read this, there is your evidence. This is a message of hope that goes beyond the limitation of circumstance. Let your resolve be strengthened by the memory of those who have come before you – whatever your background may be – yes, your people have fought to be heard too. Since we all have fighting-to-be-heard in common, and misunderstandings bubbling over the cups edge, let us fine-tune our listening, ready to clean up what has spilled by accident. Mindful listening, the kind of listening you do with the breathing deep in the bottom of your belly. Listening you do without thinking of a response while the person is still speaking, or while you are still reading their words. It is hard for you to be present with others, because you have a hard time being present with yourself. Stop interrupting the sentences from your own soul, and mindfully listen to the wisdom already inside you. It is always speaking, in a whisper yes, but the possibility is there for it to be heard and set free. See your history? Look how much has been done with even smaller possibilities evident before the taking of the action. Stop complaining, get up, do something. The best part of you is not made of weakness, you are billions of years of strength perfected from a dying stars explosion. Piece yourself back together, your scattering is an illusion. The best part of you is already whole. Count your blessings, starting with the breath you are inhaling and exhaling without permission right now. Count even the water that makes your blinking smooth. See clearly into this moment. Have a wonderful day!

Again

Sometimes I feel like tiny man with only almost dreams,
like tea kettle on low, with only half the steam.
Where is the air, to make sharp calling sound of whistle?
Dreams once made of marble, now come cracked and brittle.
What say I to all the friends who believed so dear,
that my feet would walk the water top without a single fear?
While drowning, how can I tell them I’ve fallen far beneath,
the treasure I was hunting for and never got to meet?
How do I find the courage to face them once again,
as cemetery bones cry earth to mock, break, and bend,
everything I thought I knew about my tired self;
see them collecting dust now, those dreams upon the shelf?
Quivering hand and bedside lamp, reaching careful touch,
perhaps I’ll pull them closer now, I’ve missed them oh so much.

Golden

I know where to go,
how to compound words so tightly,
they squeeze moisture out of the air,
but only in the shape of golden tears.
Treasure, at the end of rainbows.

Set it on a mark to go!
Your flow can set a hand free.
Heart can be your new start,
free fly and find tomorrow’s glee.

I have a chest made of map;
know thyself is written across the top,
where myself remains smitten sapped,
I go sweetly within my souls glowing pot.

It sings like. . .

mysterious melodious magic music,
that moves it past the point of pain;
like cranes that fly to lift
heavy things that no longer sing
to deeply planted grain.

Grow to the heights of tallest tree!

Set your heart free!
Like mysterious melodious magic music.
Eye on the goal, walking rubble road,
sure to touch it, even after fork-split.

Our souls are made of bliss!

I know where to go,
how to compound words so tightly,
they squeeze moisture out of the air,
but only in the shape of golden tears,
that later become rainbow treasure,
that frees us from our fears.
